Hussman Center for Adults with Autism A Project of Institute for Well-Being

Change Lives of Adults with Autism at Towson and Beyond

More than 100 adults with autism currently participate in the Hussman Center's specially developed, high-quality programs and activities that focus on valuable skills for living as fully engaged members of their communities. We guide these adults in addressing skills that support their quality of life such as decision-making, collaboration with others, self-regulation, and self-expression while including Towson University students as mentors in all programs and activities. Through this innovative model, nearly 200 Towson University students from many different majors annually have applied, mutual learning experiences with adults with autism that set them apart in their future careers. These shared experiences lead to both the students and adults with autism gaining valuable skills and being prepared to foster a more inclusive society.

How Can You Help?

Your gift to the Hussman Center for Adults with Autism Operating Fund allows us to enhance and increase our programs and impact here at Towson University and throughout the community, assuring a variety of exceptional programs that meet a range of needs and interests for adults with autism and creating even more student experiences. With additional funding, we can expand our programs for adults with autism and those who work with them and increase our evaluation of program effectiveness. You'll help our students learn crucial skills for their future work and personal lives in the best possible applied learning experiences. But more than that, you'll let us touch more individuals, sharing our findings locally and nationally to benefit many, many adults with autism and those who support their success.
