BHI - Joseph Meyerhoff Collection A Project of Albert S. Cook Library

Make the Past a Prologue

Sometimes the books in a library have more stories to tell than what is printed on their pages. Towson University's Albert S. Cook Library is home to the largest collection of Jewish cultural and religious history archives in the Southeastern United States. In 2009, Baltimore Hebrew University integrated with Towson, and we were honored to continue care for the rare and extraordinary books and artifacts from BHU's collection—thousands of which were reclaimed from the Third Reich in the Jewish Cultural Reconstruction. White Gloves sessions allow our archivists to share these treasures with the community, giving you a chance to touch history. We need your help to continue to preserve the items in this unique collection so we can continue to share this priceless, critical collection with the world.

How Can You Help?

Your gift to the Baltimore Hebrew Institute Joseph Meyerhoff Collection helps Special Collections and Archives preserve and protect the rare books and artifacts in this collection. Your generosity enables us to continue to keep the history of these unique items alive for generations to come.
